GRIEF HEALING WITH SOUND BATH

With heart, I hope you are experiencing a bit of relief from the hardships of winter. Mercury retrograde, for those who follow such concerns is from April 1 to April 25.

Some folks in business abstain from making hard decisions or business deals during this period due to the communication mishaps that can surface during retrograde.

And from conversations to your schedule, mental wellness and perception to computers, transportation, and other social and business interactions, it is claimed by those in the know to be a time to abstain from heavy decision-making.

But have clarity, it is a great time to clear out clutter, donate used items to charity, and start that spring cleaning, as you reflect with fondness (or regrets) on the past year!

I know I do like to reflect.

Through the practice of guitar playing and composing I've been reflecting on grief and loss, and creating a refresh of personal power and transformation while focusing on the higher healing wisdom of my personal journey and intertwining it with strength.

This came after the devastating experience of heavy loss I personally experienced in 2023 losing my mother, and in 2024 I lost one of my past inspirational gifted bandmates, drummer-composer Bruce Nielsen, which additionally challenged me in grief.

I've been rejuvenated and empowered with the sacred, my own faith, and the power of the sound bath and my commitment to assisting others in their healing journeys through losses such as illness, divorce, or in grief.

It is true I am a musician/writer/filmmaker. But I have been assisting others to heal since I was 17. I first started this healing work working with disadvantaged youth in a Toronto suburban ghetto, supporting them emotionally to thrive, brightening their lives with recreational activities and fun games.

This progressed to me working for 11 years solidly for the Canadian Mental Health Association's drop-in centre, The Phoenix Centre, where I served over 650+ clients of the centre, many whom had serious barriers to employment due to varying abilities.

Once I left that position, I started as a volunteer with TV Directing Coast Connections with host Elizabeth Heinz, and also hosting on Community Producers, and co-hosting on Shaw Spotlight television's The Show, where I made a special effort. I made sure to produce and feature local charities and non-profits in need from the food bank, to the women's shelter, the hospital, to brain-injured children and others, with an emphasis always on helping charities, the homeless, the disabled and those most in need.
